Create your first event
An album needs a name and an event type. Everything else — the date, the cover photo, the accent colour, the plan — can be added or changed afterwards without affecting anything you have already printed.
The moment the album exists you get a code and a guest link. Both keep working even if you rename the event a week later.
What is actually required
A name and a type — that is the whole of it. The date is optional, the plan starts on the free tier, and no cover photo is needed for the guest page to look finished. The album exists as soon as you save, and it starts accepting uploads straight away.
This is deliberate. An album you may only create once every detail is settled is an album created too late to be useful.
- Name the event. Guests see this name on the upload page, so write it the way you would say it out loud.
- Pick the type. Wedding, birthday, party, corporate, conference, sports or other. It changes the wording guests read, nothing else.
- Take the code. The QR & signs tab holds the code in several formats. Print 1 stand per table, not 1 per room.
What you can still change later
Name, date, guest-page language, accent colour, cover photo and event type are all editable after the fact. So are the upload settings: which kinds of contribution you accept, whether the album is public, and whether a password sits in front of it. None of these invalidate a printed code.
The code points at the event, not at its details. That is why a rename on the morning of the party costs you nothing.
The code and the link
Every album has 1 short code and 1 guest link, and they are the same door. Guests either scan the code from a table stand or open the link you sent in a group chat. There is nothing to install and nothing to sign up for on their side.
Print the code once you are happy with the name, but do not wait for the rest. Changing the colour or the cover later does not reprint anything.
Choosing a plan, or not yet
A new album starts free: 5 GB of storage, 60 contributions, video clips up to 30 seconds and a 30-day life. That is enough to test everything and enough for a small gathering. The paid tiers lift all 4 of those numbers at once.
Upgrade before the party rather than after. A contribution refused at the door on the night cannot be recovered by paying the next morning.

The 60-contribution limit applies to the free tier only. From Essential upwards, storage is the only ceiling.
The sample album in your list
A new account comes with a read-only sample album already populated with photos and voice messages, so you can see what a full album looks like before yours has anything in it. It refuses every change on purpose, and it disappears from the list once you have created a real event.
If a control looks greyed out, check which album you are in. Almost every report of a missing setting turns out to be the sample.
The first hour, in order
Create the album, set the guest-page language, decide which kinds of contribution you accept, then upload something yourself from a phone that is not signed in. That last step is the only test that proves the whole path works, and it takes 1 minute.
After that, print the stands. Everything from there is the evening itself.
Common questions
Do I need the date to create the album?
No. The date is optional and can be added later. It matters mainly for how long the album stays open.
Does renaming the event break the printed code?
No. The code points at the album itself, not at its name.
Can I start free and upgrade later?
Yes, and it is worth doing before the party. Uploads refused on the night are not recoverable afterwards.
Do guests need an account?
No. They scan or open the link and upload from the browser their phone already has.
Why are some settings greyed out?
You are probably inside the read-only sample album. Create your own event and the controls unlock.
