Request your data, or its deletion
Deleting is something you do yourself: a single upload, a whole event or the entire account all go from the dashboard, immediately and without asking anybody.
Asking for a copy of what is held about you goes by message instead, because there is no working self-service button for it — a person reads each one and answers you.
What you can delete yourself
Every removal that matters is already in your hands. A single photo or video goes from the album, an event goes with everything guests sent to it, and the account goes from Settings under the heading Right to erasure. None of these waits on a reply from us, and none of them has a queue in front of it.
Work upwards from the smallest action. Removing one picture is rarely the same request as closing an account.
- Check whether you can just do it. Removals are yours to carry out, and none of them waits on us.
- Write only for what you cannot do. A copy of your data, a correction, or a case the dashboard has no button for.
- Say which event and roughly when. That is enough to find it. No passwords, no card details.
| You want | Where it is | Takes effect |
|---|---|---|
| 1 photo or video gone | In the album, on the item | Immediately |
| 1 event gone | On the event | Immediately, with its uploads |
| A guest’s upload gone | You remove it in the album | Immediately |
| The whole account gone | Settings, Right to erasure | Immediately, and you are signed out |
| A copy of what is held | A message to us | A person answers it |
4 of the 5 rows need no message at all. The 5th is the one this article is about.
Asking for a copy of your data
Settings lists an export of your account data, and the button beside it is not switched on yet. Until it is, a copy is something you ask for rather than something you download, so write to us and say so plainly. Nothing about the request touches your events: asking for a copy removes nothing and changes nothing.
Downloading your albums is a different job with a different button, and that is the one that gets you the photos themselves.
A guest cannot do any of it alone
Guests upload without an account, so there is no personal area where they could find their own contributions again and nothing that would prove a file belongs to them. When a guest wants a picture taken down, the request reaches you, and you are the only person who can carry it out. Write to us and it only comes back to you.
Do it quickly when it happens. Somebody who has to ask twice will not send anything next time.
Deleting is not hiding
When somebody asks for their contribution to be taken down, hiding it is not what they meant. Hiding pulls the item out of the shared album and keeps the file with you, ready to come back. Deleting takes it out of the album, out of every later download and out of storage, which is what the person asking had in mind.
The album view offers both, side by side. Read the request before you pick one.
What to put in the message, and what happens next
The event name, roughly when it was created or paid for, and what you actually want: a copy, a removal, or a correction of something wrong. That is enough to find the right records without anything sensitive changing hands. We never ask for a password or a card number, and you should never send one.
If it concerns a guest’s upload, add roughly when it was sent. That narrows an album down faster than a description does.
Your message is logged as a request with the date it arrived, then handed to one person rather than a shared inbox. It carries a 30-day follow-up marker that flags it internally if it passes; that is a working target, not a promise made to you. It ends in one of 2 ways: it is carried out, or it is answered with the reason it cannot be.
Requests split into a copy, a removal and a correction. Saying which one you mean at the top saves a round of questions.
The clock that runs anyway
Separately from anything you ask for, every album ends. The retention window is shown with the event, and 14 days after it runs out the media is removed for good. Anybody asking when a picture will disappear can be given that date without a request being needed at all.
The same clock cuts the other way. Whatever you want to keep has to be downloaded before it runs out.
Where the formal wording lives
The privacy page in the footer is the authoritative text, and it says what is processed and on what basis. This article describes the route a person actually takes; it does not restate that page and should not be read as a replacement for it.
If something you need is missing there, write to us rather than inferring it from this page.
Common questions
Can I export my account data myself?
Not yet. Settings lists the export, the button is not switched on, so ask us instead.
Can a guest delete their own photo?
No. Without an account there is no personal area for it, so the request comes to you.
Is hiding enough when somebody asks?
No. Hiding keeps the file with you. Deleting is what was meant.
How long does a request take?
It is logged the day it arrives and answered by 1 named person. A 30-day marker tracks it internally, which is a working target rather than a commitment.
What should I not send you?
Passwords and card numbers. We do not ask for them and do not need them.

What deletion covers, and why the export is switched off.
Hide or delete uploads
Which of the 2 a request actually means.

Where most take-it-down requests come from.
Your case is not on this page
Write to us with the event name and roughly when it ran. A person reads it and answers you directly.
