The QR code opens the wrong page
A code that opens the wrong album is an older code: one printed for a previous event, or downloaded before you created the event you meant.
Scan the printed artwork yourself and compare the album name on screen with the one you expect. That settles it in under a minute.
It is an older code
Each album has its own code, and codes from previous events keep working for as long as those events exist. A file left in a downloads folder, a template reused from last year, or a sign kept from another party all lead exactly where they were made to lead.
The giveaway is that the page loads perfectly and shows somebody else s event name.
- Scan the printed sign. Not the code in your dashboard — the artwork that actually went to the printer.
- Read the album name. The guest page carries your event name. If it is the wrong one, the code is from another event.
- Reprint from the right event. Take the code from the QR & signs tab of the event you mean, and print 1 to test.
A code does not drift
Renaming the event, moving the date, changing the accent colour or switching the event type leaves the code untouched. It points at the album itself, not at any of its details, which is why you can print early without risk.
So a code that suddenly opens the wrong page did not change. Something about which file got printed did.
How to check which is which
Open the event you mean, go to QR & signs, and scan the code shown there with a phone. Then scan the printed sign and compare the 2 pages. If they differ, the print came from somewhere else, and no amount of scanning will fix it.
Doing this once before the print run is what makes the check cheap. Doing it afterwards costs a reprint.
When the old event is gone
A code from an event that has been deleted or has passed its retention window leads nowhere rather than somewhere wrong. That is a different symptom and a different article — a blank page points at visibility or expiry, not at the wrong file.
Either way the fix is the same: take the code from the event you actually mean.
Keeping them apart
Name the downloaded files after the event as soon as you save them, and delete last year s from the folder you print from. The exported file names carry the event name already, which helps as long as you do not rename them to something generic.
If you run several events at once, print 1 sign per event and scan each before the rest of the run.

Can a code start pointing somewhere else?
No. It points at the album, and renaming or re-dating the event does not affect it.
Why does the code open a different event?
The printed file came from that event. It is an older code, not a broken one.
How do I check which event a code belongs to?
Scan it and read the album name on the guest page.

No. A blank page points at a private album or an expired one, not at the wrong file.
