The 3 ways out
Download all takes the entire approved event, a type filter takes just the photos, just the videos or just the voice notes, and a selection takes exactly what you ticked. Each produces a ZIP; the difference is only what goes in it.
A single file can also be opened directly, which is faster than a ZIP when you want 1 picture for a message.
- Decide the scope first. Whole event, one kind, or a selection. It changes what you tick, not how you download.
- Select what you want. Select all loaded picks up everything currently on screen; scroll and repeat for more.
- Download the selection. The ZIP is built from exactly what you ticked, in the order the files arrived.

The type filter is the one people forget, and it is what turns a 9 GB download into a 400 MB one.
Why filter to photos
Video dominates the size of almost any album. Filtering to photos gives you the part you want for a print run or a photo book without waiting for several gigabytes of footage you are not going to use.
You can always come back for the videos later, as long as the album is still within its window.
Working with a selection
Select all loaded ticks everything currently displayed rather than the entire album, so on a long list you scroll and repeat. That is deliberate: it means the button never quietly selects 800 files you had not looked at.
A selection ZIP is built from exactly what you ticked, so it is worth a glance at the count before you start it.
The quality is the same either way
Every route gives you the original file. The archive stores rather than recompresses, so a photo that comes out of a selection is byte for byte the one that comes out of Download all.
That also means a smaller scope is smaller only in count, not in per-file quality.
How the files are named and ordered
Files come out in the order they arrived, oldest first. That is upload order, not the order the pictures were taken — a photographer s batch sent weeks later sits at the end even if the shots are from the day itself.
If chronological-by-capture matters to you, sort by the file s own date after unpacking rather than expecting the archive to do it.
All of it needs a paid plan
Original-quality downloads belong to the paid tiers, and that covers every scope on this page — the whole event, a type filter, a selection and a single original alike. The free tier has no route to the original files.
Change plan while the album is still within its retention window. Afterwards there is nothing left to download.

Yes. Filter by type and the ZIP contains just that kind.
Does Select all cover the whole album?

Is a selection lower quality than the full export?

How are the files ordered?
By upload time, oldest first — not by when the picture was taken.
