In the end what counts is what you keep. These articles cover how you get at the files — one at a time, as a selection, or the whole event at once — and how to let your guests do the same, if you want to.

On a paid plan a download gives you the originals: photos at full size if they were uploaded since 16 October 2026, and videos as the file that was sent, never reduced. In the album, photos show as a smaller display copy of up to 2560 px that the guest’s browser makes before uploading, and older photos exist only in that size. For printing, a photo book or your own archive, the download is the one you want.

Two things are worth doing early: download once the stragglers are in, and decide beforehand whether guests may download too. For guests that is switched off until you say otherwise, and for good reason.

Keep the retention window in mind. It sits above the list in the dashboard and it keeps running whether or not anyone visits the album.
