Add or remove a custom domain
A custom domain belongs to a workspace, and a hostname can only be used once across the platform. After you add it, it moves through verifying to active.
Until it is active it serves nothing. Add it days before a client event rather than the afternoon of it.
The 4 states
A domain is pending when you add it, verifying while the check runs, active once it serves, and failed if the check does not succeed. Only active means a guest opening that address reaches your pages.
Failed is not permanent. It means the check did not pass, and it passes once the DNS is right.
- Add the hostname. It starts as pending and belongs to the workspace you added it in.
- Point the DNS at us. Verification checks the record. Nothing happens until it resolves.
- Wait for active. Only then does the domain serve your branded guest pages.

Nothing is served until active, so a domain added the morning of an event is a domain that does not work at it.
A hostname belongs to 1 workspace
Hostnames are unique across the platform, so the same address cannot be claimed twice, and a domain belongs to the workspace you added it in rather than floating across your account.
That matters when you run several client brands: put the domain in the workspace whose brand should answer on it.
How many you can have
Studio carries 1 custom domain, which is right when everything you do runs under a single identity. From Agency upwards there is no limit, which is what makes a domain per client possible.
A single domain can carry any number of events, so 1 is less restrictive than it sounds.
DNS takes the time it takes
A DNS change is not instant and is not something we can hurry. Depending on your provider and the record s previous settings it can be minutes or considerably longer, and until it resolves the domain stays in verifying.
So this is the step to do a week before a client s event, not the day before.
Removing one
Removing a domain stops it serving your pages. Anything printed with that address on it stops leading anywhere, which is the same problem as a reprinted QR code and has the same cure: do not remove a domain while signs carrying it are still in circulation.
The events themselves are untouched. They remain reachable at the default address.
Your own domain means your own notice
A partner domain publishes its own legal notice from the fields you filled in on the branding screen. Incomplete fields produce an incomplete notice rather than falling back to ours, so this is the moment to finish them if you skipped any.
The same applies to the support address a guest sees when something goes wrong.

As long as your DNS takes to propagate. It is not something we can speed up.
Can 2 accounts use the same hostname?
No. A hostname is unique across the platform.
How many domains do I get?
1 on Studio, no limit from Agency upwards.
What happens if I remove a domain?
It stops serving. Printed material carrying it leads nowhere.
Does a domain change my events?
No. They stay reachable at the default address.
